PA’s 3rd Medical Marijuana Dispensary Approved In Montco
The third medical marijuana dispensary in Pennsylvania has been approved to sell to patients in Montgomery County, officials announced.

PLYMOUTH, PA — The third medical marijuana dispensary in Pennsylvania has been approved in Montgomery County, officials announced.
“With each announcement of dispensary approvals, we are getting closer to providing medical marijuana to patients with serious medical conditions who desperately need this medication,” Governor Wolf said in a statement. “Once the growing process is completed and the dispensary receives medication, patients and caregivers with medical marijuana identification cards will be able to purchase medication.”
The approval of Plymouth’s Ilera Healthcare makes a growing trend as marijuana makes its way into the healthcare sphere.

The dispensary is expected to be ready to sell within the next four months, officials said.
Patients that have a medical marijuana identification card will be able to purchase at Ilera. The state says that 14,000 people have registered to obtain a card, while 2,300 have been approved by their doctor.

Dispensaries were required to undergo numerous inspections before approval. Ten more dispensaries have been cleared to begin marijuana operations.
The state’s medical marijuana program was signed into law in April 2016. Full implementation of the program, including the approval of more locations to sell to patients, is expected at some point in 2018.
