Plymouth-Whitemarsh Student Chosen As National Merit Scholarship Semifinalist

PLYMOUTH MEETING, PA — Several students from Montgomery County, including one from Plymouth-Whitemarsh High School, have been chosen as National Merit Scholarship semifinalists, the first step in qualification for the prestigious scholarship.

If selected, the scholarship awards students $2,000 per year of college study.

The Plymouth Whitemarsh student selected was Leo Nasatir.

School districts like North Penn, Wissahickon, and Methacton were represented by large contingents.

A total of 16,000 students nationwide have been selected as semifinalists.

Next spring, the group will be narrowed based on their high school achievements and other factors. A rough total of 6,700 finalists will be named to win scholarships.

All students nationwide are automatically entered into consideration when they take the PSAT test.
