Less than half of high school students tested measure as "advanced," according to the 2010-2011 PSSA.

The 2010-2011 Pennsylvania System of School Assessment (PSSA) results show that less than half of tested high school students measure with "advanced" math skills, according to the recently-released test results from the Pennsylvania Department of Education.
The PSSA, which measures how well students have achieved in reading, mathematics, science and writing according to the DEP, showed that 47.9 percent of the 361 students tested during the 2010-2011 school year were operating at an advanced level for math, with 35.5 percent measuring as "proficient." 16.6 percent of tested students measured with "basic" or "below basic" math skills.
At the elementary level, Ridge Pike and both saw over 90 percent of tested students with advanced math skills. Those two schools, along with and Plymouth Elementary, saw zero percent of tested students possessing "below basic" math skills.
