PW Lax Roundup: Boys Top Wissahickon, Girls Fall to CBW
A spin around the local sporting scene.

The weather was uneven, and so were the performances.
In cold and windy conditions, the Plymouth-Whitemarsh lacrosse program split a pair of games earlier this week; the boys topping Wissahickon 11-6 on Tuesday, and the girls falling to Central Bucks West 15-4 the day before.
In what the Times Herald described as a scene out of “Twister,” the girls played a mistake plagued game at home on Monday—committing turnovers, not taking full advantage of offensive opportunities—in losing to visiting West.

Colonial head coach Ellen Reilly told the Times Herald the poor effort sprang from a crisis of confidence.
“We have to have confidence in our stickwork, confidence in your ability to pass and catch is critical. [The Colonials players] have to believe they can do it, and then go out and execute it.”

The following day though, the Colonial boys seemed plenty confident.
Plymouth Whitemarsh rode a stalwart defense and a five-goal night from Jake Brown to an 11-6 win over Wissahickon.
After getting to the 2:00 mark of the first period with just a 3-2 lead, the Colonials scored eight unanswered goals to turn a tight contest into a rout.
“It starts with the defense,” Brown told the Times Herald. “Everybody’s a starter back there, we don’t consider anyone a sub.”
