Strong Showing From Montgomery County In PA Attorney General Race
Who will be the next Attorney General of Pennsylvania?

Two of the five candidates for the next Attorney General of Pennsylvania hail from Montgomery County.
Current Montgomery County Commissioner Josh Shapiro has earned the support of President Obama, along with current Governor Tom Wolf and former Governor Ed Rendell.
“Josh Shapiro is a true progressive with a strong record of standing up for Pennsylvania families,” said President Obama. “As Attorney General he’ll fight to reform the criminal justice system to make it fairer for all and protect seniors and consumers. Josh Shapiro is a person with character and integrity and represents a new generation of progressive leadership. I’m proud to endorse Josh Shapiro for Attorney General.”

State Rep. Todd Stephens, who hails from the Horsham area, was also in the race at one point, meaning three of the six candidates were all from Montgomery County.
The pair are running against Democrats Stephen Zappala, the Allegheny District Attorney, and John Morganelli, the Northampton County District Attorney; the other Republican is Joseph Peters, who formerly served in the White House's Office of National Drug Control Policy.
