Study: Colonial School District 20th in State PSSA Testing
A new study shows the Colonial School District improving year-over-year in PSSA scores.
The Colonial School District is the 20th best district in the state when it comes to PSSA testing, according to an annual study by the Pittsburgh Business Times.
The study, in its seventh year, uses a formula that takes into account the previous three years of scores in math, reading, writing and science. It lends the most weight to the most recent year.
CSD comes in as the fifth highest school in Montgomery County, behind Lower Merion (8), Lower Moreland (15), Upper Dublin (17), and Jenkintown (18). The district also jumped from 25th in 2011 to reach in to the top 20 this year, leaping over nearby Methacton and New Hope-Solebury School Districts.
Allegheny county leads the state with six schools in the top 20, all but one of which fall in the top 10, including top-ranked Upper St. Clair School District.
Chester County has three schools in the top 20, lead by Unionville-Chadds Ford School District at number two and Tredyffrin-Easttown School District at number three. Delaware County also has three, led by Radnor Township School District at number four.
