Superhero Suzy: Dispatcher By Day / Child Advocate By Night

The saying "not all superheros wear capes" couldn't be more true about about Sue Gardy. She does it all, all because she has a big heart!

Sue Gardy is committed to Montgomery County, in both her professional life as a dispatcher and in her private time as a dedicated volunteer for the Hogs and Honeys Foundation for Kids, which she and her husband, Sam founded.

Hogs and Honeys Foundation for Kids has always been so grateful for everything she and Sam Gardy, her husband, have done for the organization. On June 15th, 2017 Sue got a very well deserved surprise. Kristen O’Brien, a fellow committee member, secretly nominated Sue for 6ABC’s “SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING SUPERHERO CONTEST” because she has an incredibly challenging job and still goes above and beyond for the foundation. O’Brien says “the contest essay was the easiest thing I have ever written, because she is just that amazing.”

Sue was in complete shock when 6ABC showed up at the dispatcher center to tell her she was chosen to be the local hero. Sue gets to enjoy a day of pampering and the VIP treatment to the local premiere of the new Spider-Man movie with many of her closest friends. Sue said she “felt like a deer in headlights at the moment, but is completely honored and thrilled for this opportunity.” From all of the Hogs and Honeys Foundation for Kids committee, we are honored to be a part of the foundation with Sue and would like to thank her for all that she has done. We couldn’t be more excited to see Sue and Sam recognized for all their hard work.
