Thousands Of Montgomery County Walmart Workers Get Wage Increase: Report

Thousands of Walmart's hourly workers in Montgomery County received a significant boost on Thursday when a wage hike when into effect.

The average full-time associate wage has been boosted to $13.31 an hour, Walmart stated.

The increase will affect 2,237 workers in Montgomery County, the Intelligencer reports.

It's part of a national move for the company which is expected pay $2.7 billion more in wages and career development over the next two years.

The starting pay for workers has also been increased to $9 an hour for associates hired after January 1, Walmart said.

Wages have been increased to $10 an hour for entry-level employees hired before January 1.
