Township Of Whitemarsh: Highlands Mansion And Gardens Preservation Moves Forward

The Board of Supervisors has approved subdividing the 40-acre Highlands Mansion And Gardens into two parcels as part of the plan to preserve the property.

One parcel in the subdivision measures about 28 acres and includes the fields and woodlands surrounding the mansion. The second, 12-acre parcel, includes the mansion and formal gardens.
The Township has approved the purchase of a Conservation Easement on the larger parcel. Funds from that purchase will be used by the Highlands Historical Society for improvements to the mansion and gardens.
