Township Of Whitemarsh: Supervisors Vote To Acquire Butler Pike Property For Open Space

The Board of Supervisors has voted to acquire a property at 4046 Butler Pike in the Plymouth Meeting Historic District.

The 2.71-acre parcel is adjacent to the Abolition Hall property. The Township entered into an agreement of sale to purchase the Abolition Hall property in April.
The Butler Pike property has a single-family home on it that is now vacant and in disrepair. The ordinance would authorize the acquisition for $810,000. The Township will use $810,000 in Act 153 Open Space funds for the purchase.

The Township anticipates settlement on the property before the end of the year.
