Weis to Purchase Conshohocken Genuardi’s, Other Locations
The company agreed to purchase stores in Conshohocken, Norristown, and Doylestown.
Weis Markets announced on Feb. 13 that it entered into an agreement to purchase three Genuardi’s locations–including the –from Safeway Inc., Market Watch is reporting.
"We're extremely pleased to be adding these stores to our store base," said Weis Markets' President and CEO David J. Hepfinger in a press release. "We look forward to serving these communities as the lead local merchant as we have in 33 counties throughout Central, Eastern and Northeastern Pennsylvania. We will also be reaching out to the associates of these stores to discuss employment with our company."
The stores will continue to operate as Genuardi's prior to the completion of the sale, the date of which was not reported.
