Whitemarsh Gets $199K For Flourtown Road Improvements
Montgomery County has granted more than $1 million to several traffic and construction projects around the area, including in Whitemarsh.
WHITEMARSH, PA — Whitemarsh has received a $199,000 grant to improve Flourtown Road, Montgomery County officials announced Friday.
The project is one of six across the county to receive Transportation Program Grants, which are funded by the county's $5 motor vehicle registration fee.
With the grant, Whitemarsh will install signal mast arms, ADA ramps, sidewalks, and trail-standard roadway crossings at Flourtown Road near Joshua Road.

“Municipalities use these grants to fund projects that they want to do to improve traffic and pedestrian safety for their residents," Val Arkoosh, Chair of the Montgomery County Board of Commissioners," said in a statement. "By using these grants, the municipalities free up local dollars that can be used for other high priority projects that they have."
Projects in Royersford, Upper Hanover, Lansdale, Springfield, and Upper Dublin also received funding.
