'No Security Concerns' After Incident At Chester Co. Polling Place

SOUTH COVENTRY, PA — Officials say there are "no security concerns" after an incident at a Chester County polling place early Tuesday.

The incident has led polling hours to be extended by 30 minutes at Owen J. Roberts Middle School for voting in Pennsylvania's primary election Tuesday. Polls at that location will now close at 8:30 p.m.

The incident at Precinct 170 in South Coventry occurred just after 8 a.m. Tuesday.

Details remain unclear and were not elaborated on by officials. A spokesperson for Chester County said that a member of the school community received assistance.

The incident took about 30 minutes, during which time the polls were not accessible.

The Chester County Court of Common Pleas granted the emergency extension.

Elsewhere around Chester County, polls will close at 8 p.m. Tuesday.
