Heartbreak 'Unimaginable' As Montco Mourns Student-Athlete Killed By Police

UPPER POTTSGROVE, PA — There's still so much that the Pysher family does not know.

What could have led police to aim weapons on their son, 23-year-old Glen "Bubba" Pysher, who was looking for the party his friends were throwing?

What led them to fire?

Pysher, a college baseball player and a 2023 graduate of Upper Pottsgrove High School, had been out at a nearby bar celebrating a friend's birthday, according to media reports. The party then moved to a nearby home, and it appears he rang the doorbell of the wrong house, leading residents to believe there was a break-in, according to police.

Shortly thereafter, he was dead.

Family and friends have been left in shock. The local community has banded together to support the Pyshers, raising nearly $30,000 in a matter of days through a GoFundMe campaign. More than 400 have donated.

"The Pysher family has always been the kind of people who would do anything for anyone," Anthony Napoli wrote in the GoFundMe. "And now they need that same love in return."

The circumstances lead a lot of unanswered questions. The Montgomery County District Attorney's Office is investigating.

Pysher's mother told CBS Philadelphia that Bubba's phone showed was on a call with his friends at 12:32 a.m.

At 12:35 a.m., Pysher was dead.

"No Taser," she told CBS. "No nothing. Automatic deadly force."

Pysher was set to start classes at Saint Elizabeth University in Morris Township, New Jersey this month. He was joining the baseball team there, after stints playing for Francis Marion University in South Carolina and at Northampton Community College. His position was catcher.

"Everyone who knew him will remember his love for baseball and the joy he found in catching balls, something that brought so much pride to his father, mother, three sisters, and the entire Pysher family," Napoli added.
