Board Certified Geriatric Clinical Specialist is New Director

Andrew Harnish PT, DPT, GCS is the new FOX Optimal Living Rehab Director at Chestnut Knoll

Chestnut Knoll Personal Care and Memory Care welcomes the new FOX Optimal Living Rehab Director, Andrew Harnish. In this position, he and his FOX team ensures the residents of Chestnut Knoll are receiving skilled therapy and wellness services to reach and maintain their optimal level of function.

“I hope to continue to evolve the program to best suit the residents, by developing evidence-based programming and administering clinically excellent care,” said Harnish. “I treat the residents as if they are family members or relatives of my own—with compassion and respect.”

Prior to this position, Harnish worked with FOX Rehab as a physical therapist at Walnut Woods Independent Living Community and performed house calls in the greater Boyertown area. His educational background includes a Bachelor of Science from Penn State University and a doctorate in physical therapy from Arcadia University. Harnish also completed the FOX Geriatric Residency in Physical Therapy and is a board certified Geriatric Clinical Specialist. His full credentials are Andrew Harnish PT, DPT, GCS; however, he is also an APTA Credentialed Clinical Instructor and LSVT Certified BIG Therapist.

Currently, he and his FOX team are working closely with Chestnut Knoll to develop a special Parkinson’s disease program, which will include educational sessions, support groups and group exercise classes.
