MAKING A “SUPER” I’MPACT

POTTSTOWN SCHOOL DISTRICT

Superintendent of Pottstown Schools Dr. Jeff Sparagana added a little something special to the Rupert Elementary School third marking period I'MPACT visits. I’MPACT is an acronym for I'm Pottstown Action Community Team and each marking period teachers pay a home visit to students recognized for their achievement and citizenship. Its mission is to “celebrate learning with positive communication of activities happening at school through the building of relationships with community members. The team makes door to-door visits to surprise students and their families with certificates of achievement, balloons, and I’MPACT winner polo shirts. Students are congratulated and recognized for their hard work, citizenship, and positive behavior. One student from each grade level is selected at the end of a marking period. Dr. Sparagana said, “This is an outstanding program and is a way to recognize the efforts of our students. Our community’s most precious resource is its young people. Programs such as this help to instill in them the importance of hard work and good citizenship that will lead them to become the leaders of our community.” Third marking period honorees included:  Kindergarten - Austen Kennedy  1st Grade - Zhon Bell  2nd Grade - Taetum Robbins  3rd Grade - Jaylah Becker-Aiken  4th Grade - Garrett Hartline  5th Grade - Carena Williams Principal Matt Moyer organizes each marking period event with the assistance of teachers, support staff, and parents.
