Alzheimer’s Support Group to focus on managing behavioral challenges

Senior care experts at Chestnut Knoll will host a monthly Alzheimer’s Support Group, a program of the Alzheimer’s Association, for family caregivers and their loved ones navigating the dementia journey together. The group offers an opportunity to connect, share experiences, and gain guidance in a supportive environment. Members will meet on Thursday, June 18, at 6:30 p.m. at Chestnut Knoll, 120 W. Fifth St., in Boyertown.

Caring for a loved one with dementia can bring moments that are difficult to understand. Challenging behaviors are often a form of communication, signaling an unmet need or unpleasant sensation. Our care team is here to help, offering practical tips for navigating behavioral shifts, reducing overstimulation, improving safety, and creating a calm, comforting atmosphere.
