Alzheimer’s Support Group: Balancing Independence and Support

Senior care experts at Chestnut Knoll will host a monthly Alzheimer’s Support Group, a program of the Alzheimer’s Association, for family caregivers and their loved ones navigating the dementia journey together. The group offers an opportunity to connect, share experiences, and gain guidance in a supportive environment. Members will meet on Thursday, Sept. 17, at 6:30 p.m. at Chestnut Knoll, 120 W. Fifth St., in Boyertown.

What happens when a loved one wants to remain independent, but their changing needs tell you otherwise? Let’s talk about “Balancing Independence and Support.” We’ll discuss resistance to help, safety concerns, caregiver guilt, and ways to offer support while preserving dignity.
