Chestnut Knoll Celebrates 18th Birthday
Senior living community in Boyertown, Pennsylvania, continues to provide compassionate care for seniors.
Residents, staff, volunteers, and members of the community gathered at Chestnut Knoll Personal Care and Memory Care on Tuesday, Sept. 18 to celebrate 18 years of award-winning care.
The senior community located at 120 W. Fifth St., Boyertown, officially opened on Sept. 18, 2000, also provides home care services through Chestnut Knoll At Home in Gilbertsville, Pennsylvania. This division provides care to seniors choosing to remain living at home. Caregivers provide services to seniors residing in Berks, Montgomery, and Chester counties.
Over the years, the community has received notable awards, including “Caring Super Star of 2018” for service excellence in assisted living, in three or more years by Caring.com, as well as 2018 Best of Senior Living Award from SeniorAdvisor.com.

Chestnut Knoll takes pride in its longevity within the Boyertown area. The senior living community supports the United Way, Boyertown Community Library, and local emergency responders, in addition to, Boyertown Relay for Life and Walk to End Alzheimer’s. This summer, Chestnut Knoll also gave four Boyertown High School students a unique, first-time workplace understanding through participation in Goodwill’s Summer Work Experience Assessment Program.
Chestnut Knoll remains committed to being a resource both locally and to the surrounding areas by offering free educational seminars and access to Certified Senior Advisor Jodie Daniels, as she helps families navigate through healthcare, housing, and services needed for their loved ones.

“It is important to us—staff members and residents—to build and maintain our connection within Boyertown,” says Shawn Barndt, BSW, executive director. “Keeping connected helps our residents flourish and allows our staff to be mentors to others within the local community.”
Chestnut Knoll also recognized employees for their dedication to their continued efforts to improving the quality of life of its residents. Currently, there are over 30 employees who have given 10 to 18 years of themselves to their residents! “I am proud to be surrounded with such a dedicated group, their longevity says a lot about our compassionate care team! ” says Barndt.
