Chestnut Knoll Takes Steps to Fight Alzheimer’s Disease
Chestnut Knoll participates in 2017 Walk to End Alzheimer's at Penn State, Berks Campus
Chestnut Knoll and its team of employees, families, and friends stepped out to raise awareness and money to fight Alzheimer’s disease, during the 2017 Walk to End Alzheimer’s®, held at Penn State University, Berks Campus on Oct. 7.
Walk to End Alzheimer’s® is the nation’s largest event to raise awareness and funds for care, support and research of Alzheimer’s disease. Their mission is to eliminate the disease through the advancement of research; to provide and enhance care and support for all affected; and to reduce the risk of dementia through the promotion of brain health.
This year Chestnut Knoll’s donation goal was set for $15,000. Not only did they meet their goal—they exceeded it! Now, they are hoping to reach $20,000. Donations are welcomed through the remainder of the year.

Helping them achieve their goal, included Party with a Purpose, a fundraiser on March 24, featured live entertainment from Flight Risk, a raffle and silent auction, and a Quarter Auction on Oct. 8. Plus, contributions from employees, families, local community members and various events helped exceed their goal.
Chestnut Knoll is relentless in raising awareness about Alzheimer’s disease and supporting residents and caregivers with compassion and understanding. The senior community offers free support groups and seminars focusing on Alzheimer’s disease and dementia. In addition, employees are trained through a special program designed by the Alzheimer’s Association.
