Chestnut Knoll’s 5th Annual “Making Memories to Save Memories” Beef and Beer Fundraiser
Chestnut Knoll Personal Care and Memory Care recently held their Annual “Making Memories to Save Memories” Beef and Beer fundraiser, and the community was able to raise over $7,000 for the Alzheimer’s Association. Over the past 13 years, Chestnut Knoll has donated approximately $130,000 to the Alzheimer’s Association.
“I am so proud of our accomplishments in raising money for a great cause,” said Shawn Barndt, executive director. “Our team goal for 2014 is to raise $17,000 and we started off great with the Beef and Beer, and I’m sure we can make it happen with the help of the community and a variety of other fundraisers this year, including a BBQ Chicken sale (held in September), a hoagie sale, and the Walk to End Alzheimer’s.”
The Beef and Beer event was held Saturday, April 12 at the Keystone Fire Company and many residents, family members, friends and members of the Boyertown and surrounding communities came out to support a good cause. A special thank you also goes out to all the local businesses and partners in caring that donated items to the silent auction and raffle.

“We strive to do everything we can to help our residents who suffer from Alzheimer’s and we’re proud to work with the Alzheimer’s Association to bring new information to our community to help support our residents and family members and we’re thrilled to donate to such a great cause.”
Chestnut Knoll continues to be a leader in care for seniors with Alzheimer’s and dementia. They have worked closely with the Alzheimer’s Association for many years and provide great service to those in need of special assistance in Memory Care. The staff is trained through a program designed by the Alzheimer’s Association in how to care for residents who suffer from Alzheimer’s. In addition, Alzheimer’s Association official Alzheimer’s Support Groups are provided each month for caregivers or family members of those suffering from Alzheimer’s to learn more about the disease, and what to expect.
