DUI Patrols To 'Intensify' In Pottstown Area

POTTSTOWN, PA — Roving DUI patrols will "intensify" in the greater Pottstown area over the coming week as local authorities crack down on drunk driving.

Police said that a multi-jurisdictional team will conduct sobriety checkpoints in the area.

"The enforcement team, commonly known as 'Team DUI,' along with law enforcement statewide, are cracking down on impaired drivers and we’re asking you to help us out," Pottstown Police shared in a statement.

Typically, checkpoints are placed in areas that have seen alcohol-involved crashes or fatalities in the past.

Authroities said they hope the checkpoints serve as a deterrent, and urge residents to drive sober and make a plan for designating a driver if they plan to drink and travel.
