Endangered, National BMX Event Is One Of Pottstown's 'Hidden Gems'
Pottstown Manager Jason Bobst said the borough must help Trilogy BMX Park continue its national Memorial Day event.

During Monday’s borough council meeting, Pottstown Manager Jason Bobst warned the board that a more all-encompassing effort will be required for the Trilogy BMX Park to continue to host its national Memorial Day event.
The borough must work to establish itself as a destination for tourists to make the race "into an event" Bobst said.

"It would be a shame to let that slip away -- it's a big event," said Councilman Jeff Chomnuk.
Also at the meeting:
The council honored the Pottstown Fire Department and Councilwoman Maureen Allen for their service to the community.
"It's rare for me to honor a lovely lady aside from my wife, who I honor every day," said Council President Stephen Toroney. "I took this from the mayor to do it myself."
After Toroney read the council's statement, Allen addressed the assembly.
"We have hard decisions to make," Allen said. "Not on the party line, but for our people."
