Holocaust Remembrance Day, held April 19, 2012, is a day to remember those that suffered and died over 65 years ago. Chestnut Knoll Residential Care, Memory Care and At Home Services, and the Holocaust Library & Resource Center at Albright College invite the community to come out to Chestnut Knoll on April 19 at 2 p.m. to learn more about what happened, how it happened and other true stories of the Holocaust.
Dr. Wolfgang William Shay, Albright class of 1969 and physician at a Boyertown family practice, will be speaking on this day of remembrance. Shay will give a brief overview of what the Holocaust day of remembrance is as he tells stories about his personal experiences growing up as a second-generation child of two Holocaust survivors.
This event is free and open to the public. The community is encouraged to attend and become educated about the Holocaust and the prevention of future genocides.
