Reiki, meaning "universal life energy" in Japanese, is a century-old complementary care modality most commonly facilitated by light touch. It has been found effective for promoting relaxation; reducing stress; encouraging the balancing of mind, body, and spirit; and strengthening the body's ability to heal itself.
