In what's been a Pottsgrove tradition for years, the Falcons took the field at Pope John Paul II on Saturday with plain burgundy helmets.

Head coach Rick Pennypacker has always demanded that his squad record a victory to earn the soaring Falcon that graces their helmets.

Following a scare early in the second quarter, Pottsgrove got on track and closed out a 34-21 win over the Golden Panthers to start 1-0 in league play.
