Former Montco Corrections Officer Accused Of Sending Sexual Facebook Messages To Young Girls
A man accused of sexual conversations on Facebook with underage girls was a Corrections Officer in Montgomery County Prison at the time.

POTTSTOWN, PA — A man accused of having sexual conversations on Facebook with underage girls was a Corrections Officer at Montgomery County Correctional Facility at the time, officials have confirmed.
Omar Santiago-Muniz, 27, of Pottstown, was arrested on July 21 for allegedly sending the explicit messages to two girls who were aged nine and ten, according to Pennsylvania State Police. Santiago-Muniz also communicated with a state trooper who he thought was an underaged girl, authorities said.
Upon his arrest, Santiago-Muniz was relieved from duty as a Corrections Officer at the Montgomery County Correctional Facility (MCCF) in Eagleville, Warden Julio Algarin confirmed Wednesday.

The prison then launched an administrative review process. As this was underway, Santiago-Muniz officially resigned from his position on Aug. 15.
Santiago-Muniz was unable to post $100,000 bail and was booked at Montgomery County Correctional Facility in July. He has been charged with unlawful contact with a minor, dissemination of explicit material to a minor, criminal use of a communication facility, and related counts, according to court documents.

His next preliminary hearing is scheduled for Sept. 20 before Magisterial District Judge Edward C. Kropp Sr.
