Giant Supermarket Facility To Shut Down In Pottstown Area
The fulfillment center employs 89 people, though Giant said employees will have the chance to apply for jobs elsewhere in the company.
NORTH COVENTRY, PA — A Giant supermarket fulfillment center is shutting down in North Coventry Township next month, among five closing in Pennsylvania this year.
The facility on 86 Glocker Way in North Coventry, known as Giant's "Pottstown" location, will close on March 20.
The closure will lead to 89 jobs losses, however, the company says that impacted employees will be offered other roles within the company, or will have the opportunity to apply for other roles.

"The difficult decisions to close these facilities were made after carefully considering customer trends and preferences for home delivery, where customers are increasingly expecting fast delivery, more assortment and delivery availability to meet their preferences," Ahold Delhaize, the owner of Giant, shared in a statement.
