(Pottstown, Pennsylvania) –On Thursday, September 21st, Greater Pottstown SHRM (“GPS”) hosted Marc Phander, Executive Risk Strategist at Marsh & McLennan Agency and Corporal Steven Morrisey of the Pottstown Police Department and Tactical Commander, Montgomery County SWAT – Western Region who provided training on topics including bullying, terrorism, and violence in the workplace to local Human Resource professionals. Phander and Morrisey covered how to handle bullying; terrorism, employer duties; employer liability; policies and procedures; business impact; how best to protect your employees; as well as insurance considerations.
Greater Pottstown SHRM holds monthly meetings focused on educating local professionals involved in the field of Human Resources. Most meetings are approved for SHRM and/or HRCI continuing education credits. The group typically meets the 3rd Thursday of the month at Brookside Country Club in Pottstown PA.
The next meeting will be held on November 16th from 11:30 am – 1:30 pm. Jason Reisman, Labor and Employment Law Attorney and Partner at Blank Rome LLP will give a presentation on Trump’s World Meets Employment Law. All professionals in the Human Resources field are welcome to attend. Lunch for non-members is $30. Cash or checks are accepted at the door.
