HEART POUNDING

Students at Pottstown’s Lincoln Elementary School had their heart rate raised as they took part in the annual “Jump Rope for Heart” event to support fundraising efforts of the American Heart Association.  Under the direction of Wellness teacher Jane Thompson, students in kindergarten through fourth grade elevated their heart rate as they jumped rope and swiveled in hula-hoops during their physical education classes.

Led by top fundraiser third grader Lainey Eck, the students raised over $800.00 to support the American Heart Association

Thompson said, “I am extremely proud of all of our students for their efforts.  They not only helped raise awareness and much needed funds for the American Heart Association but learned a valuable lesson about giving back to the community.  It was exciting to see the students so engaged in the physical activity and enjoying the benefits from good healthy exercise.”
