A suburban school is attempting to take a crack at a Guinness World Record: the longest game of knockout ever played.

PHOENIXVILLE, PA -- Phoenixville High School is attempting to make a crack at a Guinness World Record: the longest game of knockout ever played.
The current record of 701 was orchestrated by the NBA’s Dallas Mavericks. The school says they are hoping to beat that number “easily.”
The attempt will take place on Saturday, March 12 at the middle school gymnasium, beginning at 7:30 a.m.

- When retrieving a missed shot, if player is moving with the ball, they must dribble it (no traveling)
- Additionally, if any player shoots an “air-ball” at any time, they are “knocked-out”
2. Participant Eligibility - Only PASD students grades K-12 are eligible to sign-up and participate.
3. Adult Supervision K - 5th - ALL students in Kindergarten through 5th Grade must have a responsible adult in the facility for the duration of their student’s participation (one adult can attend for multiple participants, but they are then responsible for multiple participants). There will be adequate seating for all parents and guardians, either in the gymnasium, a classroom or auxiliary gymnasium.
4. Important - Once in the competition, leaving in the middle without being “knocked-out” puts the validity of the record in jeopardy - Our record can be disqualified. If you are signing-up, or signing-up a student, please know this competition could take anywhere from 4-6 hours in its entirety (if your student continues to advance in the competition). If you cannot commit the time, please do NOT sign-up.
The school reminds all students interested that they do not need to know how to play knockout, or basketball, to participate.
The “entry fee” for the event is optional food donations for local charities. The following items are recommended: Pancake Mix/Syrup, Diaper Wipes, Juice (apple/grape), Jelly, and/or Canned Meats/Tuna.
