Missing Montco Woman Alive, Contacted Father
Amanda Murphy, 25, called her father to tell him that she was safe late Tuesday night. She has an outstanding warrant for her arrest.

A Lower Pottsgrove woman who has been missing for nearly a week contacted her father late Tuesday night to let him know he was safe, the family said.
In a series of social media posts, the family of Amanda Murphy, 25, confirmed that she was alive and was not being held against her will.
Murphy has been out of touch with her family and friends since Sept. 7, police said. According to the Times Herald, she and a friend, Scott Proitte Jr., both have outstanding warrants for their arrest, and they are in hiding.

Murphy has a 6-year-old son and has faced a heroin addiction, her family said. Over the past week, her family has organized searches in hopes they would find her alive. Her car was found by North Coventry Police on Monday morning near Kenilworth Park, and then she called her father Tuesday.
"I want to thank each and everyone of you who shared my post, handed out flyers, spread the word, hoped and prayed, and reached out to us," Tim Murphy said in another Facebook post. "There are no words to express the gratitude in our hearts."
