Montco Family Moves into New Home In Time For Holidays, Thanks To Volunteers
Habitat for Humanity joined with volunteers from around the community to help one Montgomery County family's dreams come true.

The 2016 holiday season has been a time of miracles for one Pottstown family, as the joint efforts of local volunteers have helped them move into a brand new home.
Habitat for Humanity of Montgomery County and volunteers from The Dow Chemical Company, along with other local partners, helped to donate time and materials to build the Thompson family a new home in time for the holidays.
The Thompsons moved in on December 16. KayAnn and Ricardo had previously had trouble finding affordable housing for their growing family. But by participating in Habitat's unique Home-Buying program, they were able to find a great home at an affordable price.

“It was wonderful to see the happiness and comfort that we were able to bring to the Thompson family during this time,” said Leo Otting, Dow’s program manager for volunteerism and community outreach for the Delaware Valley. “Our volunteers enjoyed being able to utilize their skills and expertise to make a difference in one of our communities” said Otting.
Over 32 volunteers from Dow’s Northeast Technology Center, located in Collegeville, participated in the project. Additionally, Dow’s Building and Construction business donated energy-saving building materials for the home, which included Styrofoam XPS, single component spray foam, two component spray foam kits, and a variety of Weathermate weatherization products.
