Montco Middle Schooler Develops Math App: Report

The program, designed by a 14-year-old, is specially designed to help children learn math skills.

A Montgomery County middle schooler has designed an app to help students with their math abilities, according to a report.

Derek Klass, 14, of New Hanover, has created a program called Karate Baby Math Facts, which helps preschool through elementary school students with basic mathematics, the report states.

The program is specially designed to teach addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, the Pottstown Mercury reports.

Klass created all the graphics for the app himself, and used several different types of programs to finish the product.

The game gives kids ten seconds to answer a given math question, providing them with points and a given amount of "lives," the report states.

Karate Baby Math Facts can be downloaded via the App Store and Google Play for 99 cents.
