Montgomery County DA Launches Community Prosecution Unit

The Community Prosecution Unit model has been successful in other communities around the nation, but this is the first in Montgomery County.

One Montgomery County town will be getting its own community prosecution unit, the district attorney's office has announced.

The new unit will focus on Pottstown, improving the partnership between local law enforcement, the local community, and the DA's office in fighting crime.

DA Kevin Steele said the idea for the office grew out of the success of 2015's successful Operation War Ready, which dismantled significant gang operations based in Pottstown.

"But the work is not finished," Steele said. "This is phase two."

The office will be made up of three prosecutors: Captain and Assistant DA Brianna Ringwood, ADA Richard Bradbury, and ADA Heather Hines, the DA's office announced.
