Norchester Advances To Winner's Bracket Final

BUCKTOWN - The Bulldogs dominated on the mound as the combination of Tim Ponto and David Vining allowed one earned run in 14 innings of ball over the weekend.

The game marked the second time this season the Golden Generals played under the lights.

The win puts Norchester in the winner’s bracket final tonight against Bristol Post 382, who defeated Spring City 15-11 to advance.

“I am very happy to save pitching,” said Norchester manager Rick Harrison following a mercy rule shortened 13-0 win over Narberth on Saturday. “We have continued to hit the ball well, but we need to stay on it. There is no room to let up with the quality of teams that are here. We have gotten great effort from Tim tonight and all of pitchers in the last couple of weeks. We have to tighten up some stuff, but otherwise I’m very happy with the way we have stayed focused on what we need to do.”

The winner on tonight’s winner’s bracket finale, has an automatic berth in the championship game, with a trip to the state tournament in West Lawn up for grabs.
