Phone Scammers Claim to Be Police Chiefs In Montgomery County
Watch out for the latest phone scam to strike Montgomery County and the nearby area.

Watch out for the latest phone scam: suspects calling up residents and claiming to be police chiefs at local departments, claiming their is a warrant out for their arrest.
According to the Pottstown Police, there have been multiple reports of the calls, which come from individuals claiming to be "Chief Drumheller" or "Captain Thomas."
When the resident calls the number back, they receive a voice message, which identifies itself as the Pottstown Police Department, police said.

"This is a scam and it is not the Pottstown Police Department!! Chief Drumheller and Captain Thomas are not calling people to advise them that there are warrants out for their arrest," police said.
