Pottstown High School was awarded a Bronze Medal by U.S. News and World Report. This significant recognition places PHS in the top 24% of high schools nationwide. Of the 19,400 high schools in the country, Pottstown was among the 4,700 who received a gold, silver, or bronze medal. The U.S. News and World Report rankings are based on academic factors including how well traditionally underserved students perform on state exams in comparison to their peers across the state. Additional factors include the number of advanced placement courses (AP) offered factored by how many students take the courses and their performance on the end of year advanced placement exams. Dr. Jeffrey Hartmann, High School Principal, said, “I am so very proud of the team at PHS. This success is the result of hard work and dedication by students, staff, and community." He added, "This recognition is a clear indication that our work is being noticed and is one more reason to say that we are Proud to be from Pottstown.”
