Police Seek Driver In Fatal Montco Hit-And-Run

A 24-year-old man walking to work Friday night in Pottstown was killed by a hit-and-run driver, authorities say. Police are looking for the pickup truck that hit the man, who was found dead at the scene of the accident on State Route 100 near Shoemaker Road.

NBC10reports the victim, identified as Donald Purnell, was headed to his job at Wendy's when he was killed just before 8 p.m.

According to the report, police are seeking the driver of the truck, which was described as dark-colored. It likely has front-end damage, authorities believe.

Philly.comreports after being hit by the pickup, Purnell was hit again by a second vehicle. The driver of that car stopped and has been cooperative.
