Pottsgrove School District Pledges to Generate 'No Landfill' Waste Next Year
The district has contracted Sustainable Waste Solutions, of Souderton, to dispose of waste and recycling items generated by the district during the 2012-13 school year.

Pottsgrove School District has made a deal with Sustainable Waste Solutions, a family-owned garbage-hauling business in Souderton, to dispose of all waste and recycling items generated by the district next year, without depositing anything in landfills.
The Sanatoga Post reports that Pottsgrove is the first district in Pennsylvania to make the landfill-free pledge.
Sustainable Waste Solutions will compost or recycle everything possible, and what can't be recycled will be incinerated in a trash-to-steam process that generates electricity.
