Pottstown 4th Graders Build Skills On Ropes Course

The course aims to build skills in "leadership, communication, self-discovery, and self-esteem" for the children, organizers said.

POTTSTOWN, PA — Fourth graders in Pottstown recently participated in a low grade ropes course during a special event aimed to helping students build skills in "leadership, communication, self-discovery, and self-esteem" for the children, organizers said.

Rupert Elementary's fourth graders went to Althouse Arboretum for the experience, a 17-acre nature preserve in Upper Pottsgrove.

Organizers pointed to a sampling of student responses to the day as evidence of its positive impact:

  • “Never say “can’t” just keep your head up and keep trying.
  • “I didn’t think that I was going to be able to so it but my friends made it easy.”
  • “We learned how to trust each other when we needed it.”
