Pottstown: Local Communities Receive Commonwealth Financing Authority Grant
PA Small Water and Sewer grants totaling more than $2 million were awarded to nine communities in Berks and Montgomery Counties.

HARRISBURG – PA Small Water and Sewer grants totaling more than $2 million were awarded to nine communities in Berks and Montgomery Counties, according to Sen. Bob Mensch (R-24).

- Perkiomen Township Municipal Authority – $236,000
- Lansdale Borough – $323,570
- Borough of Pottstown – $600,000
- Upper Pottsgrove Township – $131,182
- Towamencin Township – $425,000
- Red Hill Borough – $82,260
- Berks-Montgomery Municipal Authority – $170,021
- Bally Borough – $314,091
- Longswamp Township – $127,806
The grants were awarded by the Commonwealth Financing Authority within the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development (PA DCED). Eligible uses for the grants include activities to assist with the construction, improvement, expansion, or rehabilitation or repair of a water supply system, sanitary sewer system, storm sewer system, or flood control projects.
“It is important to continuously improve and expand our water and sewer systems to ensure they are functioning at the most efficient levels,” Mensch said. “I am pleased to see that various communities within the 24th Senate District have received this funding, and look forward to the remarkable developments that will come from the completed projects.”
