Pottstown Man Had $11,000 In Drugs On Him At Traffic Stop: Cops

Breaking: A Montgomery County man arrested at a recent traffic stop in Berks County had $11K in drugs and $10K in cash on him, police said.

POTTSTOWN, PA — A Montgomery County man has been arrested after police found about $11,000 in drugs in his vehicle during a routine traffic stop in Berks County.

Pottstown's Demetrius Wilkerson, 25, was pulled over for speeding by the Exeter Township Police on Thursday, police said.

The officer quickly realized "something was not right" about Wilkerson and his vehicle, and executed a quick search.

That search turned up with more than $10,000 in cash, along with a number of drugs, including crystal meth, crack cocaine, and marijuana. Altogether, police said the drugs had a street value of about $11,000.

"If you are missing a quarter pound of crystal meth, please stop in our office and fill out a property release form," Exeter police said in a Facebook post. Their address is 4975 Demoss Road, Reading.

Wilkerson has been charged with possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance, court documents show.

A preliminary hearing is forthcoming.
