Pottstown Middle School Gets Heat Back On, Reopens
The middle school was shut down Wednesday after an issue with the gas line was discovered.
POTTSTOWN, PA — Pottstown Middle School reopened to in-person instruction on Thursday after an issue with the building's heating shut the school down Wednesday.
The issue was due to a gas line that needed to be repaired just outside of the school.
"Since the natural gas line has been fully disconnected from the school, there is absolutely no danger to students or staff," Stephen Rodriguez, Pottstown's Superintendent of Schools, shared in a message to the school community. "However, it will likely be uncomfortably cold."

The issue was able to be resolved Wednesday, and heat has returned to the buildings Thursday.
The school also praised students for their dedication Wednesday, as more than 90 students came by to pick up their Chromebooks so they could participate in remote learning. As a reward, several students that arrived in homeroom on time had a pizza delivered to their door by school staff.
