Pottstown Pizzeria Ranked Among Best In PA, DoorDash Says

POTTSTOWN, PA — A Pottstown pizzeria is among just 40 establishments to be named to a new list of the nation's best pizza joints.

HG Palermo's Pizza was included on DoorDash's Top Local Pizza Spots Across America list, also called the "Battle of the Slices 2026."

Located on 1263 N. Charlotte Street, the no frills, counter serve eatery in Pottstown has received rave reviews from customers for years.

"They make an amazing cauliflower crust, white, light garlic, with chicken and broccoli which is my favorite," one Google reviewer wrote. "And their cheesesteak salad is so yummy. I usually take the pizza home to freeze it and it makes 3 meals for me later."

Owner Hector G. Guerra launched his HG restaurant group after emigrating to the United States in the 1980s. He bought the Pottstown Palermo's in 2015.

The menu includes a wide variety of speciality pizzas, calzones, strombolis, wings, cheesesteaks, and more.

HG Palermo's is among six Pennsylvania pizzerias on the list. Also included were Rosario's Pizzeria and Dough Head Pizza in Philadelphia, Lione's Pizza in Downingtown, Bravo Pizza in Oxford, and Italian Pizza & Subs in Harrisburg.

DoorDash's list includes small and medium-sized restaurants that serve pizza, have fewer than 10 locations, have at least 1,000 reviews on DoorDash, and rank among the highest for average consumer ratings from September 2025 through September 2026.
