Recent Lower Pottsgrove Township Commissioners Meeting
An unbelievable statement was said by our Township Board of Commissioner Chairman about community concerns of where our taxes are going!

Our Lower Pottsgrove Board of Commissioners Chairman, Bruce L. Foltz, made a shocking statement this past Thursday evening in regards to recent concerns brought up regarding the the plan of a new township campus. According to Evan Brandt, with The Mercury, Mr. Foltz said "they don't know what they are talking about" in response to the subject of community members questioning the plan for a new campus and wondering if is it wasting tax payers money. Not only did he insult community members intelligence on the matter but he then went on to avoid any reassurance that it is indeed, not a waste of money. The response to this valid concern seems to be obviously not taken seriously by the Township Board of Commissioners. The community should have a right to get valid reasoning as to why we are having to pay for the new purchases on E. High street. This is a serious community matter. Not only did they spend over half a million dollars to purchase these properties, but they will be eventually putting many long term tenets that reside in homes in a position to have to find new homes. They have not given any of the residents any kind of timeline or even reassurance that they're leases would be renewed. They are making us all literally pay for these purchase without any valid or set plan. They stated in the meeting that they have no set plans yet for the use of the properties. They say they have no plan set in stone yet, they bought the homes and obviously have some kind of plan in mind. Saying that they are running out of space at the current building is not a good enough reason to explain the purchases, when they own over 20 acres of land already within the Lower Pottsgrove Township boundaries. There is so many less expensive and intrusive options for a new township campus. Spending this much money seems unfair to us as a community. I believe that, we as a community, deserve a bit more explanation for this 7.8 tax hike.
