Route 100 To Shut Down In Pottstown For Railroad Improvements

POTTSTOWN, PA — Route 100 will be shut down to traffic in Pottstown this weekend for railroad improvements, officials said.

The closure will be in place from 9 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 2 to 6 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 5.

The affected area is from Shoemaker Road to Manatawny Street.

Vehicles will be detoured over King Street, Manatawny Street, and State Street, according to officials. Trucks will be directed to Schuylkill Road, Hanover Street, Farmington Avenue, State Street,and Willson Street.

The improvements are part of a $13.3 million project to improve safety and traffic flow along key stretches in Pottstown and Lower Pottsgrove, PennDOT said.

Motorists should plan for delays and take extra time to travel in the area this weekend.
