School Shooting Threat: Pottsgrove HS Student Arrested
A teenager is in custody follwing a school shooting threat at Pottsgrove High School this week, authorities said.

LOWER POTTSGROVE, PA — A teenager is in custody follwing a school shooting threat at Pottsgrove High School this week, authorities said.
School officials were first alerted to the threat on Wednesday, May 1 at around noon.
The threat was made anonymously via a social media app, police said. The threat was "non-descriptive and unsubstantiated."

The school resource officer and Lower Pottsgrove Police began an investigation, and additional security was put into place at the high school. However, there was no lockdown.
"Due to the nature of the threat and information available to authorities early on, it was determined there was no need to evacuate or close the school," police said.

The suspect, who is under 18, was identified by around 3 p.m. on Thursday, and was taken into custody. No formal charges have yet been announced.
