Shaner Propane Mailer Contains Confusing Info

The Sanatoga-based propane supplier announced its acquisition by Amerigas, but failed to address its future in the Pottstown area.

You may have recently received a flier in the mail from Shaner Propane, announcing that it has become "part of the Amerigas Propane family," and according to the Sanatoga Post, the gas provider will continue to make customer relationships a top priority, but it left unclear what will happen to the Shaner facility at 3000 E. High St.

Amerigas has said that as a result of the transition their service will not be disrupted and they may continue to see some familiar faces. Propane service will now be based from an Amerigas facility in Frazer, and that its computer systems have ben updated to incorporate Shaner customers.

But will the Shaner facility be closed, or will it stay open to serve as a satellite distribution point? The answer remains unclear.
