• Need some stress-relief in your life? Healing harmony yoga with Dorian Abel to live harp music of Betsy Chapman might be your answer. The event will be held 4 to 5 p.m. Aug. 5 and includes a $15 drop-in fee. Healing Yoga is at 1397 E. Main Street in Douglassville.

• The Amity Fire Company Carnival will be held 4 p.m. Aug. 2 through 6. The event features free entertainment every night and a giant fireworks display Aug. 5. The canrnival will be held at 47 Pine Forge Road in Douglassville. Updates can be found at: http://www.amityfirerescue.com

• The Daniel Boone Youth Sports fall ball registration opens Aug. 1 through 22. Registration is offered on-line only at http://www.dbys.org. Any player registered after Aug. 22nd will be placed on a waiting list and eligibility will be based on roster availability

• Learn to play chess at the Amity Chess Club 7 to 10 p.m. Aug. 5. All ages and skill levels are welcome. The event will be held at St. Paul’s UCC Church, 1312 Old Swede Road in Douglassville.

• Enjoy an evening of live music with Fluorescent at 9:30 p.m. Aug. 5 at the State Theatre of Boyertown. Admission is $5. The theatre is at 61 N. Reading Avenue in Boyertown.

• Visit the Northwestern Berks Reptile Hamburg Show 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Aug. 6. The event will include over 200 tables of reptiles. Admission is $8. Kids 5 and under are free. The event will be held at the field house behind the firehouse, 127 South Fourth Street in Hamburg.

• A parade and open house to celebrate Monarch Fire Company’s 75th Anniversary will be held 1 to 6 p.m. Aug. 6 at 50 Pennsylvania Avenue in Douglassville. 

• The Gilbertsville Tea Room presents "The Mad Hatter’s Garden Party" 4 p.m. Aug. 6. The event will include a most creative hat contest and refreshments such as ice tea, scones, tea, sandwiches and dessert.  The event is recommended for children over 12 to adults, costs $36 per person and will be held at the Gilbertsville Tea Room, 1259 East Philadelphia Avenue in Gilbertsville.

• A family night of astronomy at the Reading Museum and Planetarium will be held 7:30 p.m. Aug. 5. The evening will include lots of hands-on activities for kids and a show in the planetarium.  The event is recommended for children ages 5 and up. Cost is $6 for adult members, $10 for non-members, $3 for children members and $5 for non-members. The museum is at 500 Museum Road in Reading.
